Living Wills

Living Wills are a means of making decisions for your self in advance of a time when you may not be able to make your own decision.

A Living Will only applies while you are still alive, and is a means by which you can decide what you would like to happen with regard to medical treatment and care as well as where you will live and other important decisions.

You may have strong feelings about life sustaining treatments in the event you are diagnosed with a degenerative or terminal illness, and making a Living Will can put your mind at rest.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

A Living Will is often made in conjunction with a Lasting Power of Attorney, which allows you to appoint someone you trust to manage your property and financial affairs if you become unable to do so yourself. Everyone should consider making a Lasting Power of Attorney and you should not wait until it is too late. Anyone over the age of 18 who has sufficient mental capacity to understand the document can do so. Suffering from mental ill health or a degenerative condition does not automatically prevent you from making a Lasting Power of Attorney.

Important note: Enduring Powers of Attorney
You may already have an Enduring Power of Attorney in place, created before 1st October 2007.

If this is the case please come and see us to ensure it still meets your needs.
