Affordable Housing – new 5 year plan announced

More than 260,000.00 affordable homes have been completed in the UK since April 2010. The UK Housing Minister, Brandon Lewis, has recently confirmed that there are plans to provide at least a further 275,000 affordable homes within the next 5 years.

Recent figures show that nearly 60,000 affordable homes were delivered in the last year. This sees a rise of 63% on the previous year. This has provided a much needed boost for not only home owners but also the construction industry across the UK.

With Government Schemes such as Help to Buy, Equity Loans, Shared Ownership and Right to Buy, together with this drive on affordable Housing and a steady number of mortgages being offered by the big lenders, there seems to be no better time to put your first step on that property ladder or look to move home, something which has seemed a daunting prospect for many people in the past, especially first time buyers.
