We were instructed by Miss J, from Peterlee, in March 2015, following a road traffic accident.
Due to parked cars on both sides of the road, Miss J had slowed down to let a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction pass by.
Unfortunately, the car behind failed to stop and collided in the back of her vehicle.
She suffered whiplash injuries and severe headaches as a result of the accident and required physiotherapy.
After carrying out investigations with the police, it transpired that the ‘at fault’ driver was not insured to drive the car they were in. We had to pursue a claim via the Motor Insurance Bureau and their ‘uninsured driver’s agreement’ which compensates those injured due to the negligence of uninsured drivers.
After obtaining supportive medical evidence, Browell Smith & Co were able to secure a settlement of £12,850 for Miss J.
