Substantial payout for man following bike crash

A man who was stuck by a car when he was on a moped has been awarded a substantial payout.

Elliott Plumb, who was 14 years old at the time of the accident, suffered devastating injuries when a car turned into his path. Mr Plumb, who is now 25, was living in Spain at the time of the accident, which took place in 2003.

Following the accident, Mr Plumb was left blind in one eye and suffers ongoing problems with his back and joints. He is also prone to mood swings, memory loss and impaired concentration.

The payout, which was awarded at the High Court, will allow Mr Plumb to start an independent life. It is believed he is preparing to spend the money on a bungalow in Plymouth.
