Family Law Clerk/Paralegal

The Family Law Team are recruiting for a Family Law Clerk/paralegal.

The position is principally to assist and manage the growing number of Private Law Children and Divorce/Financial Matters.

The skills required are the ability to communicate effectively, good time management and organisation and IT skills.

You will be required to assist the fee earners through allocated tasks, manage your own caseload and provide administrative support to the team.

This role has a good degree of responsibility and he or she will be responsible for undertaking fee-earning work and making a profitable contribution to the department.

Due to the responsibilities of the role it is preferable that you have experience within a Family department with ideally more experience as a Paralegal (even if in other areas of law), a Law Degree or equivalent is preferable and a bright, organised and enthusiastic mind looking to further yourself and take on responsibility.

Description of tasks/responsibilities:

Assisting Senior Solicitor and other Fee Earners drafting documents, Court applications, statements and letters

  • Preparing Bundles and Instructions to Counsel
  • Photocopying and scanning documents
  • Speaking to new and existing clients and booking appointments
  • Managing caseloads
  • Advancing cases under supervision
  • Corresponding with the Court, Counsel and other Solicitors
  • General admin tasks
  • Completing dictation where required

Salary: competitive

The position is offered on a full time basis.

Based at our Annitsford office although there may be a requirement to assist at other branches.
