Asbestos related diseases

For many years asbestos products were used in the home, throughout industry and in building materials. Today asbestos is the single biggest cause of work related deaths in the UK. It is predicted that the number of people who die each year from mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, will continue to increase for the next 20 years. It is currently estimated that 2,700 people die each year from mesothelioma alone.

If you have been diagnosed as suffering from a condition caused by asbestos, it is important that you contact a firm with specialist knowledge in handling asbestos related claims.

At Browell Smith and Co we have extensive experience of handling such claims after working for many years on behalf of Union members, asbestos support groups and the general public. We have recovered compensation for victims suffering from all conditions caused by asbestos exposure in the UK. This includes clients who now live overseas.

We can even help pursue claims for UK residents who have been exposed to asbestos abroad.

We work with specialist medical and nursing experts to bring our clients the best possible service.

All claims are handled personally by a solicitor working within our dedicated Asbestos Unit.

Browell Smith and Co do not act for defendants or insurance companies. We only ever act for victims of asbestos exposure so you can be guaranteed that there is no conflict of interest.

Many of our solicitors are members of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. Browell Smith and Co is also recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers Legal Directory as one of the Leading Personal Injury Firms in the North East.
